Minimalist style gets a new look. A new headlight cowl, triple LED headlight design, aluminum side covers, meter cover, turn signals and mirror housing all add to the evolution of the Sugomi™ philosophy for even more supernaked swagger.

The updated silhouette is distinctly streetfighter and innately Sugomi™. New front and rear turn signals, side covers, granular style seat, upswept tail, LED taillight, footpeg stays and heel guards combine to make the silhouette unmistakably menacing.

A 4.3-in all-digital TFT (thin-film transistor) color instrumentation gives the cockpit a high-tech, high-grade appearance and visibility. And now the screen’s background color can automatically change between white and black based on ambient light.

New updates include 2 display types: choose between hexagonal tachometer or a bar-style tachometer along the top with simple vehicle information below it.

Display functions include: new smartphone call and mail notifications, digital speedometer, digital bar-style tachometer, gear position indicator, shift lamp, fuel gauge, odometer, dual trip meters, current, and average fuel consumption, remaining range, average speed, total time, coolant temperature, clock, battery voltage, Kawasaki service reminder, oil change reminder, and the Kawasaki Economical Riding Indicator.

Technology within the instrument panel lets you connect to the motorcycle wirelessly. Using RIDEOLOGY THE APP MOTORCYCLE^†, several instrument functions can be accessed allowing you to view vehicle info, riding log, phone notifications, display settings, set riding modes, navigation, and voice commands.

An Assist & Slipper Clutch provides a lighter feel at the lever and a back-torque limiting function that helps prevent rear-wheel hop during more aggressive downshifts.

Kawasaki TRaction Control (KTRC) features 2 modes that allow the rider to adjust settings to suit the riding situation and rider preference, or riders may elect to turn it off completely. Mode 1 provides the least amount of assistance with sport riding in mind. Mode 2 offers the most assistance, allowing riders to navigate challenging road conditions with confidence.

For added comfort, both clutch and brake levers are 5-way adjustable to accommodate a variety of hand sizes.

The overall light weight of the Z650 S ABS motorcycle comes thanks to a lightweight trellis frame with a low center of gravity for light handling and confident low-speed maneuvering. Form meets function with the exposed frame adding to the technical image of the middleweight nakedbike.

Dunlop Sportmax RoadSport 2 tires—made of high-performance rubber—boost handling and provide optimum grip. New dual 300mm front round disc brakes and a 220mm rear round disc work together to add sporty stopping power. A new Continental ABS unit adds a smooth feel when ABS kicks in.

A thoughtful footpeg position combined with higher seat height adds to the newfound comfort without losing the Z motorcycle’s staple sportiness.

A new flat, aluminum fat-type handlebar is wider and positioned slightly further forward, putting you in charge of the ride—forward-leaning and elbows out.
